Actors/Actresses photos

For my video, I haven't got set actors/actresses. I have a number of different sports people, this obviously makes it difficult to get photographs as a lot of the images I took and film footage were on location at official events.  I have though get some photographs of some of the divers and my diving coach.

My diving coach - Chaz Cooke

With Olympic Divers Tonia Couch & Sarah Barrow

With Olympic Diver Dan Goodfellow

With Olympic & GB Diving Coach Andy Banks

With GB Divers Aidan Heslop & Connor West

I wanted to include a number of able bodied athletes in the video as the song is about everyone and everyday people. I want to show that everyone is capable of achieving anything they want to if they are only prepared to give 100%. This is a subject very close to my heart.

Storyboard: Live Action Edit

I created a storyboard so I roughly knew what the video would look like, I had to do a few copies as I changed the clips round a few times.  The final product might look different to the storyboard as the video may have alterations due to the audience feedback I collect along the way.  I have tried to give a variety of camera shots on the storyboard but my main aim to get the viewer to feel that they are there in amongst the action, come rain or shine.

Props:

I didn't have props as all the equipment was at the venues, I did however have 2 videocameras including one that could film underwater, a tripod to ensure smooth filming and a stack of SD cards.

Final Cut

This is my Final Cut for my A2 Media Studies music video.

Music: We Could Be Heroes by Alesso ft. Tove Lo. Cover by: The Madison Letter

Thank you to everyone who has let me film them, without you this wouldn't have happened.

This final draft is slightly different to the storyboard as audience feedback was taken into account and I used the camera in portrait hold instead of shooting landscape all the time because I wanted to focus on a variety of events mainly the diving. If anyone wants to make further comments then please feel free to do so, it would be much appreciated. Thank you & Enjoy! 😊 x

Evaluation Question 3

Q3: What have you learned from your audience feedback?

I used surveymonkey to create this survey for my video:

The sample size isn’t sufficient, for it to be sufficient I would need to ask 100 people more and this I couldn’t do.

The feedback I received was all quite positive which I was pleased about. A few people commented they weren't too sure they liked the portrait clips. I used these as my video is not a story/film as such but more like a Sports /advertisment video that could possibly be used for the Olympic/Paralympic games.  I notice on many sports trailers there are often still portrait shots at intervals and I have tried to capture this by including my portrait shots. I also think some of them were really good so I wanted to include them.

Here is the video I recorded for audience feedback.  I found it essential to get this feedback even though I didn't need to make any changes at this point but it means that I had produced a media product that appealed to my target audience, as my final media product was more mass market than niche, according to my secondary research from YouGoc/Profiles. Almost half of this class were in the age range of my target audience with a few either side of the 18-24.  This then allowed me to make final alterations to my media product based up this audience feedback.

Evaluation Question 2

Q: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

By looking at artist's digipaks and posters, I can see that mine are very similar to theirs.

My poster has an image on it from the video and so does One Direction's as the images on their poster are in their music video, both posters also have the song title on and who the song is by.

A lot of the adverts and  digipak covers had negative space on them which allowed space for text to be added. My advert has lots of negative space around the focus of the cover so text could be added. My digipak has the title of the song on it and so does Alesso's.   I've added a few images to make the digipak interesting instead of Alesso's white cover. This was done to create a distinctive look to the cover but at the same time is it takes reference from my research.
