We Could Be Prepared: Filming days and recce shots

The trouble with sporting events is they only happen once. You can check out the venues but a medal-winning performance is a one-off. I filmed at 5 different locations in total. As I managed to obtain permission for filming, I only needed to film at 1 location per sport.  This helps me create a product that is suitable for my target audience.

Sunday 26th July:

This was my first filming day. The location was the Queen Elizabeth Park (Olympic Park) in London. This event was the 3rd Anniversary Games and I filmed some of the Paralympian Athletes.

On the same day I filmed Paralympian swimmers at the London Aquatics Centre which is located in the park.

My next filming day on Tuesday 6th October was more local to me. The location being the Plymouth Life Centre. Here I filmed GB Divers Robyn Birch, Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch in a 1 hour Dry Dive session. I also filmed Madeline Coquoz from Switzerland.

Tuesday 13th October:

Again at the Plymouth Life Centre, during a 1 hour pool training session, I filmed Robyn Birch and Daniel Goodfellow - both members of the GB Diving Team.

Thursday 15th October:

My next film location was at Marjon University in Plymouth. This is the 'Home Ground' for the Plymouth Storm Wheelchair Basketball Team and I spent several hours filming them during a great training session. I found this to be a brilliant sport and fascinating to watch.

Monday 4th January 2016

The dressage part of my video was filmed at Riding for the Disabled (RDA). I have been a dressage rider here at competition level for 4 years. This video of Sophie was taken during one of her practises for a competition.

Monday 28th March 2016

Again I was at the Plymouth Life Centre and with the help of 2 divers (Aidan Heslop & Conner West) from the young GB Team, I got some underwater footage.

Audience Survey Results: Who Likes To Dance?

Here are my results from the audience survey I made.

As you can see from the results, most of the audience (70%) were female and aged between 18-24 (75%). The majority liked dance music (71%). The sample size is 8 people so it isn't very accurate. To make it accurate I would have to ask 100 people which I don't have time to do. Based on my research I will aim my video at females aged between 18-24 who like pop and dance music. However as I wanted to link the final video product into the Invictus Games  which is to be held in America in 2016 so I will need to conduct some additional secondary research.
